The Octagon Campfire stove is large enough to have multiple operations happening at the same time, I can be cooking my steak in radiant heat next to a pot of water boiling potatoes for my garlic mashers and green beans for yet another side dish. This kit is a bit bigger and heavier so I use it directly on the ground without a fire-pan to save weight and bulk.
