When camping, my coffee ritual is to hike to an especially beautiful spot to make and enjoy my coffee. I’ve always kept my Coffee Kit separate from my water bottle, not intentionally, I just didn’t have a case that held everything together which made my coffee trek just a little bit awkward. I wanted a pack that was just big enough to hold both my coffee kit and a 32 oz. Nalgene water bottle. I also wanted it to be easy to carry so we added a handle. Once the basic size and shape was established I held it up to my chest and thought, maybe this would work as a chest pack? I’ve always loved chest packs. I used to wear one back in my snowboarding days (to carry my CD player).
I like having such easy access to what I need…a chest pack never seems in the way or throws off your balance. I tried it, it worked great, so I added the workstation pocket and the KIT-PAC was born. In Firebox fashion the KIT-PAC with its many pockets, sleeves and stashes, is very versatile / multi functional. It’s just the right size for most any need and that’s why I named it “KIT-PAC.”

(verified owner)Ok I’ve had my chest pack for a few weeks it looks and feels very durable. I have lodged it up with firebox stuff and have not decided how I want to pack out for my first outing with it.

(verified owner)Underrated item in the firebox lineup. Great size: it fills a spot in my pack quiver that I didn’t realize was so useful. The dimensions make it very ergonomic and fun to experiment with different load outs. Great organization and usability: if you like Firebox stuff you probably appreciate the design sense that is in their DNA, and this pack is no different. You can carry it many ways: chest, back, carry handle, or my favorite: as a sling. Also easily attaches to other packs for expanded carry and organization when out in the field. Construction is thoughtful: super smooth zippers, good seams and stitching, and a lightweight but durable canvas-like material. Priced really well, too. I believe it’s manufactured in Asia but i’m not certain. Don’t sleep on this pack.

(verified owner)I have seen this pack on lots of your videos. I just had to have it. I am very happy with it. Good material, good zippers and snaps. I have no doubt I will get years of use from this pak. Very pleased and shipping was quick, even all the way across the country to GA.

(verified owner)As with all Firebox products I own, the KIT-PAC Chest Pack is intelligently and thoughtfully designed. The quality is superb, as I’ve grown to rely on. I keep my basic Freestyle setup stored in the KIT-PAC, so it’s easy to grab and go. I used it on a recent road trip (not camping) to carry all the things I like to keep handy in the car. It’s roomy enough to carry a lot and yet small enough that things don’t get lost when I need them in a hurry. This is another winner from Firebox!

(verified owner)I love this and the Charlie Box. The Charlie Box is my favorite but I cannot leave a review for that as I bought it from the Kickstarter campaign. Second to the Charlie Box would be this Kit-Pac. The size is perfect. All of the pockets and such are efficient and that is why I love Firebox. No matter what it is it is the most efficient design. I will actually be buying a second Kit-Pac as I want to use it for carrying my watercolor supplies when I do plein air. I’m 70 and cannot handle a full size backpack, especially when it is filled with whatever. While this is designed to be worn in the front I find it is perfect for me to use as a backpack as I am only about 5 feet tall. Not only is the Kit-Pac efficient it is also extremely well made. Both the construction and materials reflect the high quality that Firebox is known for. I highly recommend this Kit-Pac for anyone looking for carrying the essentials and packing light.
