Firebox Chest Kit-Pac
$44.99- Great ergonomics, the way you can organize gear makes it very intuitive to use.
- Items are easy to find and convenient when you need them.
- Perfect size for holding different gear you want to keep together.
When camping, my coffee ritual is to hike to an especially beautiful spot to make and enjoy my coffee. I’ve always kept my Coffee Kit separate from my water bottle, not intentionally, I just didn’t have a case that held everything together which made my coffee trek just a little bit awkward. I wanted a pack that was just big enough to hold both my coffee kit and a 32 oz. Nalgene water bottle. I also wanted it to be easy to carry so we added a handle. Once the basic size and shape was established I held it up to my chest and thought, maybe this would work as a chest pack? I’ve always loved chest packs. I used to wear one back in my snowboarding days (to carry my CD player).
I like having such easy access to what I need…a chest pack never seems in the way or throws off your balance. I tried it, it worked great, so I added the workstation pocket and the KIT-PAC was born. In Firebox fashion the KIT-PAC with its many pockets, sleeves and stashes, is very versatile / multi functional. It’s just the right size for most any need and that’s why I named it “KIT-PAC.”

(verified owner)Just the right size for an everyday carry / possibles bag. I use several different vehicles in a typical week. Was always a pain to transfer from one to another. Loaded this up and now simply grab and transfer to different vehicles. Keeps everything together even in a bouncy sno-cat. Well built!

(verified owner)I had been hunting for a chest pack for ages and then Steve hit another design out of the park. It is the perfect size for me for a variety of activities so I change out the gear I need. Enough pockets to keep things organized, but not so many I “lose” things. It’s comfortable to wear and is configured so I can use it while wearing a backpack. The grab handle is a feature missing on most chest packs that make the pack so much more convenient as a carry option.

(verified owner)Love the KIT-PAC, I have it set up with my coffee supplies. It’s so easy to grab out of the truck to make my coffee. Everything is nicely organized and easy to get to. The engineering on all Steve’s equipment is truly remarkable. Everything fits the way it should. I ordered another KIT-PAC to have for my HEX-stove and small frying pan.

(verified owner)Having seen Steve’s video on YT, I decided to order one directly from Firebox Stove in April 2024. It’s difficult to source Firebox Stove gear out here in Malaysia, so I’m now a regular Firebox addict with a growing collection of stoves and accessories. Delivery time is only about a week to travel half way round the world !I must admit that in my year of use, the Kit Pack is now my go to bag and it never fails to amaze me how much gear I can fit it for hikes of bike packing. A truly versatile bag with pockets for just about everything. It’s comfortable to wear and everything is just so accessible.
Definitely a recommended item to add to your list

Got mine loaded with an Esbit mess kit & Wildo box, which frees up space in my backpack.
